Physical Properties

Additionally, it has a hardness of the delivery state of 155- 201 HB, a hardness after quenching of 254-232 HB, and a hardness after tempering of 150-208HB.
Processing
Generally, the normalizing and quenching are used for the processing of 22MnVBHA steel, which will make it more homogeneous. This can ensure that the steel has a more uniform microstructure and a better combination of plasticity and toughness. The heating temperature during normalizing should be 900-950 °C, which should be heated for 30 minutes for each 20 mm thickness of the material, and then cooled in air.
The quenching should be carried out after the cooling from normalizing. It is preferred to quench in saltwater or brine at a rate of 6- 8 °C/s. The tempering should be done at temperature of 520- 570°C, and for every 20mm thickness of the steel should be heated for 30 minutes.
