Requirements for Automation Components (Devices) and Systems of Turbine Generators (I)
Introduction
Automation has become an important means for ensuring safe, reliable and economical operation of turbine generators. This document describes the basic technical requirements for the automation components (devices) and systems of turbine generators.
1 Main Technical Requirements
1.1 Complete Sets of Automation Components (Devices)
The complete set of automation components (devices) mainly consists of a main machine monitor, a control cabinet, relays, contactors, transmission interface, measuring instruments, protective and signaling devices, connectors and other necessary components, as well as the relevant testing instruments and tools.
1.1.1 Main Machine Monitor
1.1.1.1 The main machine monitor should meet the following requirements:
(1) The main machine monitor should be able to control and protect the turbine generator in accordance with the specified technical performance;
(2) The display and storage system should be complete and clear, and should be able to correctly display and display the various states of the turbine generator;
(3) The virtual instrument and data acquisition mechanism should be able to effectively gather and process the information about the turbine generator;
(4) The alarm and setting mechanism should meet the requirements of the operation instruction;
(5) The data communication interface should meet the requirements of the data exchange between the turbine generator and other upper level automation systems.
1.1.1.2 Main Machine Monitor Class and Models
The main machine monitor of the turbine generator should meet the following requirements for quality grade, model, or equivalent level:
1) Single unit power of the turbine generator does not exceed 30MW;
2) Single unit power of the turbine generator is greater than 30MW but not more than 75MW;
3) Single unit power of the turbine generator is greater than 75MW but not more than 300MW;
4) Single unit power of the turbine generator is greater than 300MW;
5) Automation of a double unit power turbine generator is not more than 200MW.
1.1.2 Control Cabinet
1.1.2.1 The control cabinet should be able to provide a protective cover and support for the various electrical and electronic components, and should meet the following requirements:
(1) The protective level should meet the requirements of the installation environment;
(2) The wiring structure and connection should meet the requirements of the instructions;
(3) The air-conditioning system (air exchange system) should be able to meet the requirements of the operation code;
(4) The fire-protection and explosion-proof system should meet the requirements of the corresponding regulations.
1.1.2.2 Control Cabinet Class and Models
The control cabinet of the turbine generator should meet the following requirements for quality grade, model, or equivalent level:
1) Lower than 30MW;
2) 30MW-75MW;
3) greater than 75MW.
1.1.3 Relays
1.1.3.1 The relays should be able to meet the requirements of the technical specifications and meet the following requirements:
(1) The voltage and current rating of the relays should meet the requirements of the operation instruction;
(2) Connectors should be designed in consideration of changing wiring and connection in the shortest time;
(3) The protection level should meet the requirements of the installation environment;
(4) The insulation distance of the wiring should meet the requirements of the code;
(5) The wiring structure should meet the requirements of the instruction.
1.1.3.2 Relay Class and Models
The relays used for the turbine generator should meet the following requirements for quality grade, model, or equivalent level:
1) Lower than 30MW;
2) 30MW-75MW;
3) Greater than 75MW.
1.1.4 Contactors
1.1.4.1 The contactors should be able to meet the requirements of the technical specifications and meet the following requirements:
(1) The voltage and current rating of the contactors should meet the requirements of the operation instruction;
(2) Connection should be designed in consideration of changing wiring and connection in the shortest time;
(3) The protection level should meet the requirements of the installation environment;
(4) The insulation distance of the wiring should meet the requirements of the code;
(5) The wiring structure should meet the requirements of the instruction.
1.1.4.2 Contactor Class and Models
The contactors used for the turbine generator should meet the following requirements for quality grade, model, or equivalent level:
1) Lower than 30MW;
2) 30MW-75MW;
3) Greater than 75MW.
1.1.5 Transmission Interfaces
The transmission interface should meet the requirements of the operation instruction and meet the relevant applicable standards of automatic control communication interface and protocol.
1.1.6 Measuring Instruments
The measuring instruments should meet the following requirements:
(1) The quality grade, model, accuracy grade and related functions of the measuring instruments should meet the requirements of the operation instruction;
(2) Connectors and wiring should be designed to ensure fast and reliable connection;
(3) The wiring structure should meet the requirements of the instruction.
1.1.7 Protective and Signaling Devices
The protective and signaling devices should meet the requirements of the operation instruction, and the protection level should meet the requirements of the installation environment.
1.1.8 Connectors
The connectors should meet the requirements of the operation instruction and the relevant applicable standards for automatic control communication interface and protocol.
1.1.9 Testing Instruments and Tools
The testing instruments and tools should meet the requirements of the operation instruction and the relevant applicable standards for testing instruments and tools.
2 Quality Control
The quality of the automation components (devices) and systems of turbine generators should meet the requirements of the operation instruction. In addition, the following requirements should be met:
2.1 Quality Assurance

2.2 Quality Control

2.3 Inspection and Testing
Inspection and testing should be conducted in accordance with the requirements of the “Inspection and Testing Requirements for Automation Components (Devices) and Systems of Turbine Generators” and the relevant applicable standards.
