What is Dog Agility?
Dog agility is an obstacle course style competition for dogs. It’s a challenging way for owners to bond with their canine friends and compete against others. History of Dog Agility
Dog agility originated in 1978 in the United Kingdom at a dog show. A group of trainers and veterinarians wanted to develop a competitive sport that was accessible to all breeds of dogs, and would involve their owners as well. The first competition was held in 1979 with just 18 dogs participating.
Since then, the sport has grown in popularity with dogs and owners all over the world. There are now hundreds of agility competitions held every year, with dogs of all shapes and sizes participating.

Competitions

The International Federation of Cynological Sports organizes a world championship each year, and allows the highest scoring dog in each class to compete. Dogs can also qualify in certain events to compete at the world championship.
