Natural language processing (NLP) is the ability for the computer to understand and interpret natural language. For example, a user can query a computer system with the question, “What is the weather like in Florida?” The computer system can then understand the user’s query and provide the relevant information, such as the temperature and forecast for the current day and several days ahead.
HCI systems are also used in various medical and industrial applications. Medical HCI systems allow medical professionals to interact with various medical equipment and devices in a fast and safe manner. Industrial HCI systems are also used in various manufacturing and industrial processes to improve efficiency, safety, and energy consumption.
