12CrNi4 Steel

12CrNi4 steel is a low-carbon, high-strength structural steel that is also known as ferritic-austenitic steel, produced according to Chinese GB/T1221 standard.

12CrNi4 steel is a low-carbon, low alloy steel containing 10%-12% chromium and 0.3%-0.5% nickel. As a result of its low-carbon and low-alloy content, 12CrNi4 steel is characterized by strong corrosion resistance and low work hardening ratio. In addition, 12CrNi4 steel is characterized by good strength and toughness and it is considered to be one of the best steels for constructing and repairing high-strength parts.

12CrNi4 steel resists corrosion better than most other austenitic stainless steels because of its high chromium and low alloy content. Its corrosion resistance is further enhanced by the inclusion of nickel. The chromium content of the steel helps form a passive film layer on the surface of the steel that prevents it from rusting. The nickel content also provides good resistance to acids and other corrosive substances.

12CrNi4 steel has excellent machinability, with good formability and weldability. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, including structural parts, such as roof frames, girders, columns, beams and pipes, as well as machined parts, such as valves, gears, shafts and bolts.

The high strength of 12CrNi4 steel makes it ideal for use in the oil and gas industry, where strength and corrosion resistance are of utmost importance. It is also used in the construction and automotive industries, where its low alloy content makes it suitable for making components that need to be lightweight yet still have good strength and durability. In addition, 12CrNi4 steel is also used in the food processing industry, where its corrosion resistance is important for preventing the contamination of food.

12CrNi4 steel is widely available in China, usually in the form of round bars, tubes and sheets. It is typically supplied in the annealed or normalized condition and is used for a wide range of applications in industries such as automotive, construction, oil and gas, and food processing.
