The early years
Most people will agree that education is all about the journey of self-discovery. Being able to independently come to the conclusion that you have a passion for something or the realization that there are other ways of thinking and opportunities out there, can be a fantastic and personally rewarding experience.
I, too, am a firm believer in this idea and can confidently report that my early years of schooling was the building blocks for furthering my passion for learning. I started out at an elementary school near my home, located in a bustling city. The atmosphere was always welcoming and inviting, and I was inspired to do my best. My teachers were always patient and I was always encouraged to pursue my goals.
As I progressed to middle school, I found that I was now surrounded by people of diverse backgrounds and interests, and it was here that I deepened my appreciation for different disciplines such as science. The teachers here were the ones who encouraged me to take risks and push myself further. I was exposed to different skill sets such as coding, robotics and virtual reality that I had never thought of exploring, and this was when I began to seriously consider making learning my career path.
Higher Education
By the time I entered secondary school, I had already decided that I wanted to pursue a degree in “Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence”. I researched extensively and even attended various seminars, interviewing experts in this field. Coming from a science and math background, I had already grasped the technical concepts in my studies, but I was keen to understand the nitty-gritty of this latest technological phenomenon.
At the forefront of my research was learning the fundamentals of the field. From programming languages such as Java and C++ to understanding the crux of Artificial Intelligence, I was fascinated by the implications of both. My experiences of learning how software and hardware interact, equipped me with the necessary knowledge to explore this field further.
Graduation and Beyond
Completing the course requirements, I was granted a degree in “Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence”. With the new skill-set I had acquired during my studies, I decided to pursue a career in this field. I researched extensively on job opportunities in this field, and even attended countless interviews.
I was eventually offered a position at a major technology company, and soon after, I began to understand the industry at a deeper level. From sensing the importance of teamwork to understanding the importance of deadlines and detailed-oriented tasks, I was exposed to various challenges that I had to adapt to during my work.
Conclusion
My journey in education has been nothing but rewarding. The early stages of understanding the fundamentals of this field and furthering my research and knowledge has been instrumental in my success. It is true that hard work pays off, and my story is proof to this effect. I am now happy with my decision to pursue a career in “Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence” and I am looking forward to continuing this journey of self-discovery and learning
