Design Specification for Oxygen Stations GB50030-91
This Design Specification for Oxygen Stations (GB50030-91) is formulated to effectively prevent accidents and improve working and living environment of workers near the oxygen station, and can be used as the criteria for design and construction of oxygen station.
The scope of this Design Specification includes the scope and sequence of construction of the oxygen station, layout of equipment, location of terminals and power sources, fire protection and hazardous area layout, etc.
I. Scope of Application
This Design Specification applies to the technological design of oxygen station and its components, as well as the design of the station in the process of construction, maintenance and use.
II. Site Selection
1. Generally, the oxygen station should be built away from high-pressure gas source, place with flammable, explosive and radioactive materials, residential areas, and public places.
2. The station should be located at high and dry places with sufficient air circulation and easy access to transportation.
3. If the station is located in the residential or public area, the expert team shall evaluate its general safety in order to prevent safety accidents.
4. The oxygen station shall be out of the range of flood and landslide, and shall not be influenced by high voltage line and power distribution line.
III. Terminals, Power Sources and Lightning Protection
1. All terminals shall be installed in the ground tank containing transformer oil and shall be protected from direct sunshine and other environmental factors.
2. Power sources shall be provided from the nearby substations or from electricity grid.
3. Lightning protection shall be provided in accordance with relevant provisions.
IV. Equipment Layout
1. All equipment shall be laid out in an orderly manner and laid-out plan shall be designed to facilitate the construction, maintenance and refueling.
2. Different types of equipment shall be laid out power sources, terminals, oxygen generators, and storage tanks according to their radiation of electromagnetic wave and their heat radiation.
V. Fire Protection
1. Fire protection shall be provided in accordance with relevant national standards.
2. All solid combustible materials used at the station shall meet fire safety requirements. Fire safety devices shall be provided inside and outside the station.
3. Firewater supply shall be provided for the station, and emergency fire exits shall be arranged accordingly.
VI. Hazardous Area Layout
1. Oxygen station shall be divided into hazardous area and common area, and shall be clearly indicated and separated by boundary.
2. In hazardous area, necessary protective measures shall be taken in all aspects such as construction, fire protection, and power distribution.
3. Near hazardous area, danger sign shall be provided for warning.
VII. Safety System
1. An effective safety system shall be established in oxygen station.
2. During design and construction of safety system, different safety measures shall be implemented to ensure a comprehensive safety.
VIII. Environmental Protection
All relevant environmental protection laws and regulations shall be fully taken into consideration in the design, construction and operation of the station.
