As a society, we are currently going through a period of heightened panic and anxiety about the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). For many of us, our day-to-day lives have been drastically altered and our sense of normalcy is gone. This can bring about a number of emotional and mental health struggles.

The best way to manage these struggles is to focus on staying healthy, both physically and mentally. Make sure to stay up to date on the latest health guidelines from your municipality and health organization and adhere to them seriously. This can mean regularly washing your hands, keeping a safe distance from others, avoiding large social gatherings, and more.

On a personal level, it is important to find ways to stay healthy mentally. Find activities that help to keep you in a positive and relaxed mindset. This could include taking a walk, reading a book, painting or drawing, playing board games with your family, or doing some light yoga. Do whatever works for you.

It is also important to stay connected with the people in your life. Connect with those you care about via phone, email, or video chat. Talking with each other can help to reduce feelings of depression and isolation.

In addition, make sure that you are taking care of yourself physically as well. Find ways to stay active throughout the day, such as going for a run, doing an online workout, or performing simple exercises. Eating healthy, nutritious meals and drinking lots of water will also help you to stay healthy.

Finally, if you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, make sure that you are seeking help. Talk to your doctor or a mental health professional if necessary. They can provide you with the tools, resources, and support you need to stay healthy during this difficult time.

There is no denying that this is a stressful, confusing, and frightening time for many of us. But if we stay informed, stay connected, and take care of ourselves, we can make it through this time together.
