Introduction

Tin electrolysis (smelting) is the process of purifying crude tin and removing impurities from the raw materials through electrolysis. The energy consumed by this process is very small and the speed is very fast. Tin electrolytic refining process is an important part of tin smelting. In tin electrolytic refining, the tin solution extracted from raw materials (ore, etc.) is applied in the electrolytic tank, and the dissolved tin is precipitated under the action of electric current, so that crude tin is refined into refined tin with a purity of 99.90%.

Process

Before refining, tin concentrates are needed for tin electrolytic refining. The general flow of tin electrolytic refining is as follows

1. Ore dressing

The tin ore is crushed by crusher and then the clay is removed from the ore.

2. Smelting

The crushed ore or concentrate is smelted in the furnace to form a crude tin alloy, and then cast into an anode plate for electrolytic refining.

3. Electrolysis

The anode plate and the graphite cathode plate are immersed in the electrolyte solution, and then electrolysis is performed. Under the action of electric current, the tin ion in the electrolyte solution is reduced on the surface of the cathode plate and refined into refined tin.

4. Melting

The refined tin obtained after electrolysis is melted in the furnace to purify the refined tin and form a tin ingot.

Advantages

High Efficiency. The efficiency of tin electrolytic refining is much higher than that of traditional smelting. In the traditional smelting process, the smelting process takes a long time and the efficiency is low. By contrast, the tin electrolytic refining process can quickly separate and purify the tin and other metal components, and the operating speed and efficiency are far superior to the traditional smelting process.

Environmental Protection. Tin electrolytic refining process is harmless to human environment, since it does not generate a large amount of industrial waste gas, sewage and dust in the production process, which greatly reduces the pollution of the working environment.

Conclusion

Tin electrolytic refining process is a relatively efficient way to purify tin. By relying on its low energy consumption, high efficiency, environment-friendly and other advantages, it has numerous applications in many industries such as coal, electronics, chemicals, plastics and foods. In the near future, with the continuous development of technology, the application potential of electrolytic refining will be further expanded, and more efficient and better tin electrolytic smelting process will be developed to provide more reliable products with higher quality.
