Adaptive Control System Applied on NC Machine Tool
Abstract
NC machine tools possess the capability of flexible and accurate machining and more comfortable operation. In order to make the best use of these capabilities and simplify production process, an adaptive control system is applied on NC machine tools. This control system is able to adjust and set position targets automatically, using sensors to monitor the working condition and analyze curves of motion. The motion curve control determines the performance of the machining accuracy and speed and improves the machine’s efficiency, stability and reliability.
Introduction
With the rapid development of technology, further more and more flexible and precise machining are required for NC machine tools. In order to meet this requirement, an adaptive control system is applied on NC machine tools. Adaptive control system has favorable features such as accuracy, adaptability and stability, so it is able to solve many problems like overshoot and oscillation during the process of control.
The Design of the Adaptive Control System
The adaptive control system is designed to respond to various conditions of the machining processes and to adjust the position, speed and direction of the machine tool at the same time. The system consists of four modules: monitoring module, analysis module, control module and signal generating module.
The monitoring module consists of sensors which monitor the working conditions of the machine tool and send signals to the analysis module. The analysis module is able to analyze the position, speed and direction of the machine tool and obtain the motion curve. The motion curve is then sent to the control module. The control module adjusts the position, speed and direction according to the motion curve. Finally, the signal generating module generates the necessary signals that control the machine tool.
The Performance of the Adaptive Control System
The adaptive control system is able to adjust the position, speed and direction of the machine tool automatically, which improves the machining accuracy and speed. It also provides higher stability and reliability for the machine tool.
The adaptive control system can detect possible problems of the machining process and adjust the position, speed and direction of the machine tool in time. This improve the efficiency of the production process.
Conclusion
The adaptive control system applied on the NC machine tool helps to improve the machining accuracy, speed, stability and reliability of the machine tool. It can detect possible problems and adjust the position, speed and direction of the machine tool in time. This system is beneficial for the automatic production process.
