Introduction of 35CrMoV
35CrMoV is a kind of alloy structural steel. It is widely used in the manufacture of important parts for automobiles, tractors, machines and aircraft engines. According to the American AISI classification, it is identified as AISI 4135 steel. In China, it is identified as 35CrMoV steel according to the GB/T 3077-1999 standard steel.
35CrMoV is a normalizing tempered steel, with excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, good creep rupture strength and good impact toughness. It can be used in normalizing and tempering treatment, and can be used for manufacturing parts of important mechanical components that require medium fiber and medium plasticity under medium load and medium or low speed.
It is used to manufacture parts with medium intensity, such as the engine valve, torsion shaft, connecting rod, bolt and nut, bearing, carburizing gear, piston rod and automobile transmission axle, shaft, climbing gear and so on. In addition, 35CrMoV steel can be used as a raw material for cold plastic working, such as stamping and forging parts, and can also be used as a welding material.
Chemical Composition of 35CrMoV
The chemical elements of 35CrMoV are listed as follows:
C 0.32-0.38; Si 0.17-0.37; Mn 0.50-0.80; S ≤0.035; P ≤0.035; Cr 0.80-1.10; Cu ≤0.30; Mo 0.15-0.25;
V 0.15-0.25; Ni ≤0.30; Al ≥0.020.
Mechanical Properties of 35CrMoV
The mechanical characteristics of 35CrMoV are listed as follows:
Tensile strength: Rm 780MPa-980MPa; yield strength: Rp0.2 ≥540MPa; elongation: A5 ≥17%; impact strength: Akv ≥54J.
Heat Treatment of 35CrMoV
35CrMoV can be normalized or tempered heat treated. Normalizing temperature is 880-920℃ and tempering temperature is 540-660℃.
Applications of 35CrMoV
35CrMoV steel is mainly used for the manufacture of important component parts for automobiles, tractors, machines and aircraft engines which require medium strength, good creep rupture strength and good impact toughness. For example, it can be used to make engine valve, torsion shaft, connecting rod, bolt and nut, bearing, carburizing gear, piston rod and automotive transmission axle, shaft, climbing gear and so on. In addition, 35CrMoV steel also can be used as a raw material for cold plastic working, such as stamping and forging parts, and can also be used as a welding material.
