Introduction
Chinese Petroleum Society (CPS) is a non-profit organization set up to promote the development of the petroleum industry in China. The Society is dedicated to setting standards, creating conditions and advancing technology in a range of key areas such as enhancing industry productivity, improving energy efficiency and reducing environmental impacts. Additionally, the CPS serves as a platform for members to share information, experiences and achievements, as well as providing professional training and other activities within the sector.
Objective
The Chinese Petroleum Society is the leading non-governmental organization in China dedicated to the development of the petroleum industry. Its main objectives are to build up a strong coordination and communication platform, which is composed of professionals from government, enterprises and universities, in order to provide a forum for efficient consulting, exchanging of opinions and knowledge, corporate with governments and many other fields related to China’s petroleum industry. It is also seeking to create a sound environment for China’s petroleum industry, to make it more competitive and innovative, to increase its international reputation and reveal its core competitiveness.
Goals and Targets
The main purpose of the Chinese Petroleum Society is to continuously improve the standard of the petroleum industry in China and to overcome the technical challenges that need to be tackled in order to keep up with the rest of the world. The Societys activities focus on six main objectives:
1. To enhance the level of performance of China’s petroleum industry.
2. To improve the effectiveness of the related policies and regulations.
3. To carry out research and projects to optimize the industry.
4. To promote energy efficiency and environmental protection.
5. To increase international cooperation and exchanges.
6. To provide professional training and continuing education.
Organizational Structure
The Chinese Petroleum Society is composed of one communist youth league section, five professional associations and 84 members. The professional associations are dedicated to the development of oil and gas technology, energy and energy conservation, petroleum processing and petroleum engineering, industrial automation and geology and engineering. All the professional associations and members of the Society have their own commitments to the development and promotion of the petroleum industry in China.
Membership and Benefits
The Chinese Petroleum Society is a professional, non-profit organization, open to all individuals, universities, and companies related to China’s petroleum industry. Individual members join the Society by completing an application form and paying the membership fee. On admission, each member is provided with the Societys Periodicals and receives invitations to all CPS organized events, including Seminars, Conferences and other activities related to the petroleum industry.
Besides the privilege of membership, members can submit their works, including technologies, answers to questions, to the Society and compete for special prizes. In addition, the Society will organize a periodic internal questionnaire to get member’s conversation and feedback also apply members suggestions and requests timely, as well as inviting members to carry out expert evaluations and consultancy services
