Sustainable alternatives are being sought for its use in products, construction, and paint. New technologies such as lead-free solder, plating processes, and energy production methods areallbeing developed to reduce the amount of lead used in everyday items.
Overall, lead has many uses and advantageous features, but its hazardous health and environmental impacts make it a product to be used cautiously. As research and development continues to look for viable alternatives, lead is becoming increasingly regulated and phased out when possible. It is only through restriction and responsible use that the impact of lead on human health and the environment can be minimized.
