Tungsten Slag Treatment
Tungsten slag is a waste generated in the extraction and refining of tungsten from various minerals. With the increasing demand for tungsten in various industries and the development of the tungsten metallurgical industry, the processing technology of tungsten slag has also made great progress. The reduction and utilization of tungsten slag can not only effectively recycle resources, but also help reduce environmental pollution.
The recycling process of tungsten slag usually has two aspects. The first aspect is that the tungsten slag is recycled at the mine to obtain economically valuable resources in the form of tungsten ore and associated ore; the second aspect is to further process the existing tungsten slag to extract tungsten and other metals. The recovery process of tungsten slag generally includes the following steps:
1. Pre-treatment pretreatment of tungsten slag. Crushing and milling is used to reduce the particle size of tungsten slag, and the purpose of this step is to increase the surface area of tungsten slag and make it easier for subsequent processing. It can not only reduce the difficulty of the subsequent extraction process, but also increase the recovery rate of tungsten slag.
2. Smelting smelting of tungsten slag. This step is to use smelting for purification, oxidation, and desulfurization of tungsten slag, so that the tungsten components in the tungsten slag can get enough oxygen. Generally, this process is based on the oxidation of tungsten components in tungsten slag.
3. Acid leaching of tungsten slag. This stage uses acid leaching to extract tungsten and other metals from tungsten slag. Acid leaching is usually done using sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid. In addition, the leaching process also requires the addition of reducing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydrosulfide, etc. The leaching agent may react with the tungsten component in the tungsten slag to form a tungsten complex, which can be precipitated with the leaching agent. The leaching residue can then be further processed by flotation or other methods to recover tungsten and other metals.
4. Electrolysis electrolysis of tungsten slag. This process is used to electrolyze the tungsten slag to extract tungsten and other metals. It is a process that uses electrical energy to reduce the tungsten components in the tungsten slag. The leaching residue can also be further processed by flotation or other methods to recover tungsten and other metals.
With the development of metallurgical technologies, tungsten slag treatment is gradually becoming more environmental friendly and efficient. For example, bioremediation technology is used to reduce the environmental impact of tungsten slag treatment, while the wastewater generated during tungsten slag treatment process is recycled and reused. In addition, the use of advanced technologies such as flotation and electrochemical processing has also greatly improved the recovery rate of tungsten slag.
Tungsten slag treatment has great significance for reducing resource waste and environmental pollution, and can also obtain economic benefit. The tungsten industry should give full play to the advantages of its own technologies and equipment, further strengthen the research and development of tungsten slag treatment, and strive to create a higher economic and social value for tungsten slag.
