China Mechanical Engineering Society
The China Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES) is a national voluntary scientific and technological society sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was established in 1945, and is currently one of the earliest and largest societies in China. CMES is devoted to promoting the development of the mechanical and related industries and strives to build consensus, promote communication, coordinate activities, and provides service in the areas of science, technology, economy and management.
The vision of CMES is to continuously nurture, promote and serve all aspects of mechanical engineering activities, and share the responsibility and the achievements of Chinas mechanical and related industry and develop together with the nation.
To achieve its goals, CMES focuses on the following activities:
•Providing information and academic services
CMES is committed to providing information and academic services to the mechanical engineering industry and professionals around the world. CMES provides members with business marketing, training and education, science and technology research and development, and other related services. In order to better serve the industry, CMES also hosts a variety of conferences, seminars and workshops.
•Developing professional associations
CMES is a platform for the development of professional associations and provides support for the organization of professional associations in the mechanical engineering field. CMES also builds and manages professional societies across the country and encourages the establishment of branches and special committees to serve different regions and industries.
•Improving technology and management standards
CMES is committed to the development and improvement of technology and management standards related to the mechanical engineering industry. Through regular reviews, evaluation and research, CMES provides guidance and help to improve the relevant standards in the industry, making sure that the industry is up to international standards.
•Promoting government-enterprise cooperation
CMES facilitates government and enterprise cooperation and communication by providing services and fostering a platform for the future development of Chinese mechanical engineering. CMES also works to expand international collaboration and communication through academic exchanges, joint projects and conferences.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, CMES also plays a significant role in other operations such as safety management, professional ethics and the promotion of professional titles.
By actively promoting the development of technology, providing professional and academic services and engaging in international cooperation, CMES has made great contributions to the growth and progress of Chinas mechanical engineering industry.
