Maintenance Methods for Refractory Linings in Daily Production
Refractories are materials that can resist high temperatures and have high mechanical strength, chemical stability and thermal shock resistance. Refractory linings are usually made of refractory castable and are often used in the linings of electric arc furnaces and rotary furnaces in the production process. Therefore, maintaining the refractory lining of the rotary furnace is essential for increasing furnace life, improving furnace efficiency and ensuring the safety of production. This article will provide some maintenance methods for refractory linings of rotary furnaces in daily production.
1. Keep the refractory lining clean
In the process of rotary furnace operation, the furnace will inevitably generate a large amount of slag, slag, dust and other impurities. If these impurities fall on the refractory lining, it will form a hard layer and increase the thickness of the lining layer. This will not only affect the good experience of the interior structure of the rotary furnace and increase energy consumption, but also cause the furnace lining to overheat and deform, which will reduce the service life of the rotary furnace lining. Therefore, it is very important to keep the refractory lining clean.
2. Check the integrity of the rotary furnace lining regularly
In the process of use, due to the long-term high temperature environment and slag corrosion, it is easy to cause damage such as cracks, corrosion, collapse and other parts of the refractory lining. In this case, timely repair or replace new refractory to ensure that the refractory lining of the rotary furnace is in a good condition.
3. Local repair of refractory linings
When the local part of the refractory lining is damaged and needs to be repaired, the refractory can be used for hot repair. First, the damaged part must be demolished. After the refractory brick of the same variety is demolished and ballast loose, the strip area should be made larger than 50mm on the basis of the reasonable configuration. Then, the new refractory material is hot repaired according to the appropriate proportion according to the customers process requirements, and the newly repaired part is slowly cooled and dried. In this way, a good condition can be maintained.
4. Refractory replacement
If the damage of the refractory lining is too serious, it is necessary to replace all or part of the refractory lining. Before replacement, it is necessary to clean up all the old refractory materials in the furnace, scrape off the slag layer along the furnace wall, and patiently clean it. Then, according to the customers process requirements, the new refractory material is distributed and compacted in the furnace, and then placed in the electric oven to dry (grouting and casting can be used). Finally, gradually cool the furnace and let it enter the furnace to use.
In short, in the daily maintenance of refractory lining in rotary furnace, it is necessary to keep the refractory lining clean, check the integrity of the lining regularly, and carry out timely repair or replacement when local or total damage occurs. This can not only increase the service life of the furnace, but also improve the safety of production.
