Russia generally has three series of structural steel classified by chemical composition: carbon structural steel, low-alloy structural steel, and special low-alloy structural steel.
Carbon Structural Steel:
1. General-purpose Carbon Structural Steel: Steel grades are 08, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50.
2. High-quality Carbon Structural Steel: Steel grades are 08A, 10A, 15A and 20A.
3. Low-alloy Carbon Structural Steel: Steel grades are 16Mn, 09Mn2V, 20Mn2, 25Mn, 15MnV, 30Mn2V, 30MnSi, 20MnSi, 30MnSiA, 45Mn2 and 45MnSi.
4. Special Low-alloy Structural Steel: Steel grades are 15MnVN, 35SiMn, 12MnNiV, 15CrMn, 16mnCr5, 12MnNiVR, 65Mn, 27simn, 28simn and 28simnA.
Low-alloy structural steel is widely used in ships, vehicles, bridges, engineering machinery and other areas. Carbon structural steel has the advantages of high hardness, good plasticity and better comprehensive performance, but its strength is slightly lower than that of low-alloy structural steel.
Special low-alloy Structural Steel is a kind of low-alloy steel developed with advanced technology. It is an important form of steel with good machinability, weldability and plasticity. Therefore, it is widely used in automotive, engineering and construction industries.
Generally speaking, the Russian steel materials are divided into three categories; carbon structural steel, low-alloy structural steel and special low-alloy structural steel. Each category has its own grades, providing various choices for customers in different applications. With advanced processing technology, Russian steels are reliable, durable and of high quality, which are widely used and respected by customers.
