China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association
The China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (CPCIA) is a professional organization devoted to the development of the petroleum and chemical industry in China. Established in 1978, CPCIA is a civil organization approved by the State Council and registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China.
The mission of CPCIA is to “promote the science and technology progress in the industry, improve level of the industrial production, establish a harmonious and cooperative relationship among enterprises and strengthen the market management by making use of changes of the international and domestic situation”. CPCIA advocates the development of green and clean chemistry to reduce the negative impact of chemicals on the environment, which is in line with the Chinese government’s policy of balancing economic development and environmental protection.
CPCIA coordinates and organizes the activities of petroleum and chemical industry associations around the world, and provides guidance and regulatory services. It implements trade promotion activities by organizing international and domestic exhibitions, conferences, and seminars. It also provides consultation services to members, as well as provides technical, business, and legal services.
CPCIA actively promotes cooperation between government and industry enterprises. It strives to play an important role in the formulation and implementation of policies and legislations concerning the petroleum and chemical industries.
CPCIA chairmanship and board of directors include world-renowned business elites, government leaders, and industry specialists. In addition, CPCIA members are from both multinational corporations and local enterprises with wide business range. These members represent the interests of many large and small enterprises in the petroleum and chemical industry, and are able to contribute to the industry and community by providing valuable expertise and voice.
To further serve its members, CPCIA has established a number of specialized committees and working groups, including the Innovation and Technological Development Committee, the Industrial Chain Economics and Development Committee, the Environmental Management Committee, and the International Cooperation Committee. The committees and groups are responsible for providing research and consultancy services, organizing international exchanges and training, issuing publications, and assisting the resolution of disputes and negotiations.
CPCIA is committed to the growth of China’s petroleum and chemical industry. It provides an advantageous platform for members to exchange information and to seek collaboration among themselves. It encourages members to utilize the latest technologies and share the newest industry information with each other, and helps strivers in the petroleum and chemical industry to improve their know-how. As a result, CPCIA plays an important role in the joint development of China’s petroleum and chemical industry.
