Metal Spraying
Metal spraying is a method of coating metal surfaces with a protective layer of material. It is a popular method of surface treatment as it can be done quickly, easily and cost-effectively. Metal spraying is also a versatile method that can be used on a wide range of metals including aluminum, bronze, copper and steel.
The metal spraying process starts with the selection of the right type of metal and the preparation of the surface. The surface may need to be degreased, sanded or etched in order to give the metal a good surface to work with. Once the preparation process is complete, the spraying material is applied by a heat gun or other spraying equipment.
The spraying material is typically heated to a temperature of between 900° and 1600° F, depending on the material being sprayed. As the tip of the gun is moved across the metal surface, particles of the sprayed material are deposited on the surface and adhere to it. These particles can then be smoothed out to create a uniform finish.
One of the advantages of using metal spraying is that it can be applied to a wide range of metals. Generally, the greater the temperature range, the wider the range of metals that can be sprayed. In addition, metal spraying can be done on curved surfaces and can be used to add texture to metals such as bronze and aluminum.
Metal spraying is a great way to protect and enhance metal surfaces. The sprayed material can be applied quickly and easily and it is cost-effective. Furthermore, it is a versatile method that can be used on a wide range of metals. As such, it is an ideal solution for a variety of metal surface treatment projects.
