Class of 2020,

I am humbled and honored to be here today to deliver this keynote address to you, the graduating class of Harvard University. As you leave this place and embark on your journey into the world, I am inspired to address you with words of motivation and advice.

The first piece of advice I am compelled to impart is to remain true to yourselves. In these times, it is easy to fall into what is expected of us by society and lose our individualism. There will be moments throughout the lives of each one of you when you will feel pressure to conform to what is generally perceived to be the right thing. However, do not let those pressures sway you away from who you are and what you stand for. Surround yourselves with people who help you stay true to yourself, who accept you for who you are, and who empower you to continue striving for what you believe in.

My second and most important piece of advice for you is to believe in yourself. Believe in yourself and your ambitions. I understand what a leap of faith it is to leave the comfort of these hallowed grounds and embark on a journey of stepping out of our comfort zone. Even when you do not feel particularly confident, remind yourself that you have been presented with this opportunity to keep pushing forward and that you have the means and strength within you to be successful.

Not only will this outlook benefit you for the rest of your lives, it will also greatly benefit the people you come into contact with. They will be able to draw strength and inspiration from your confidence and here determination, and why not, while they are at it – your unforgettable enthusiasm!

Remember to never stop looking forward. Strive to continuously learn and challenge yourself. Set goals, both short and long-term, to keep in perspective where you are and where you want to go. We all face hard times, but it is how we address these moments and how they shape us that matters.

Life is an educational experience, and you must take full advantage of it. View the negative as opportunities to learn and grow.

One last thought I will leave you with is to celebrate your successes!

Your successes may be big or small, but cherish them all. It does not matter if you are unknowingly inspiring someone just by being your true self, or that you have reached a goal that you used to think was too unattainable. Cherish each and every success you experience and do not be afraid to be proud of it.

Class of 2020, I am immensely proud of each and every one of you for making it to this solemn day of celebration. You have chosen this path, and I challenge you to make the best of it and create the life that you have always dreamed of.

Good luck and thank you.
