Introduction
Seamless steel tubes are a kind of steel pipe without any welding seam on its body which is mainly used for various liquid conveyance, structural support and various mechanical parts. Hot rolled seamless steel tubes, commonly known as water tubes, belong to the category of seamless steel tubes and are made of steel ingots or solid billets through hot rolling, cold rolling or cold drawing process. Compared with the hot-rolled seamless tubes, the hot-rolled seamless steel tubes have better surface quality and tolerance, can be directly used without heat treatment, and have higher dimensional accuracy.
Production process
The production process of hot rolled seamless steel tube is more complex. Generally, it is produced from the solid round steel from the steel mill blank, and then pierced through the hole in the doughnut and driven by the drill rod. The round tube blank obtained by piercing and redrawing is cut into the required length by a special cutting machine, and then sent to a thermal treatment furnace for heat treatment. In the heat treatment process, the round tube blank is heated to the right temperature (according to different material requirements, the temperature is different) in the furnace and then extruded with a steel extruder to improve its physical and mechanical properties. The round tube blank is then either directly formed into a required size tube or cooled and then machined into a required size tube.
Characteristics
The hot rolled seamless steel tube is a hot rolled steel deviated from a round tube blank with a certain thimble, and then a round tube blank is broken or pierced and then rolled, and the main feature of it is that the wall thickness is thicker than that of a cold drawn tube, but the wall thickness is uniform. Its specifications are expressed in terms of outer diameter and wall thickness. In addition, its surface is smooth, bright and beautiful, with no joints and wrinkles. Its performance is compared with the cold drawn tube, which has high precision, good concentricity and high toughness.
Advantages
Hot rolled seamless steel tube has the advantages of good pressure resistance, mechanical properties, thermal conductivity and heat resistance, mainly used for boilers, superheaters and wall panels of conventional weapons. It has good pressure resistance, mechanical properties, thermal conductivity and heat resistance. It can meet the various requirements of mechanical processing and the production of heat transfer components. Hot-rolled seamless steel tubes provide a large number of manufacturers with a wide range of production techniques and savings in material costs.
Conclusion
Hot-rolled seamless steel tubes are widely used in various industries, such as petroleum, chemical industry, medical machinery, construction, agricultural machinery, light industry and boiler, because of their many advantages, such as hot rolling process, uniform wall thickness, strong pressure resistance, good layer defects, high toughness, good concentricity, high dimensional accuracy and so on. Hot rolling is cost effective and can extend the service life of components.
