Qinhuangdao Metallurgical Design and Research Institute
Qinhuangdao Metallurgical Design and Research Institute (QMDRI) is located in the coastal city of Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province of the Peoples Republic of China. It is an independent research and development institution that specializes in the research and design of metallurgical and related engineering works, materials, technology and services. The Institute is affiliated to Tsinghua University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is fully recognized as one of the top metallurgical research organizations in China.
The Institute was founded in 2007 in order to provide technical consultation, engineering design, research and innovation services to metallurgical enterprises and relevant national organizations. Its mission is to bridge the gap between research and industry in metallurgical engineering and to provide a platform for joint development of new techniques, technology and materials.
The Institute has achieved a remarkable development track record since it was established. It has cooperated with more than 50 universities and research institutes from China and abroad, and has provided engineering design and research services for many metallurgical companies such as China Aluminum Corporation, China Steel Corporation, and Baosteel Group. The products, services and intellectual property rights developed by the Institute have been continuously in demand by multiple customers.
QMDRIs technical expertise covers a wide range, including metallurgy and heat treatment, metallic materials processing and testing, quality management and control, metallurgical process control and design, metallurgy automation, environmental optimization and control, and production quality optimization.
The Institute features world leading equipment and software for metallurgical engineering. It has established a digital and intelligent mineral exploration and evaluation system which is provided for China’s national scientific research institutions and enterprises. It has also designed the integrated ore engineering platform and resources recycling and transformation platform.
QMDRI has a strong research team with over 20 senior and associate professors who have extensive professional experience in the field of metallurgical engineering. The Institute is committed to making technological breakthroughs and creating original intellectual property rights to better serve customers.
