Inclined Plate Concentrator

The Inclined Plate Concentrator (IPC) is a mechanical settling device most commonly used in units of wastewater treatment plants to concentrate solids that are suspended in a liquid medium. It is primarily used to remove suspended solids from wastewater, which is then discharged into the sewers for further treatment. The IPC consists of an inclined rectangular plate or baffle that is suspended by a hydraulic system in between two tanks. As the water passes over the inclined plate, the solids are forced to the side of the plate due to the pressure of the water and eventually settle out of the water and collect in the bottom of the tank.
