Cold Installation
The term cold installation usually refers to the no-dusting, no-heat installation of insulation products such as mineral fiber. A cold installation is done in three basic steps:
1. Choosing the right product: The first step for a successful cold installation is to choose the right product for the job. It is important to select a product that is appropriate for the distance from the center of the cold area, and that can be installed with the least amount of mess possible.
2. Cutting : After the appropriate product is chosen, cutting it to size for installation is the next step. This is done using a sharp saw, such as a miter saw. Care must be taken in ensuring that all surfaces are clean and free from debris before and after installation.
3. Installing : The final step is installation. The product should be installed using an appropriate adhesive or tape. It is critical to ensure a safe installation by following the manufacturer’s instructions. Appropriate safety equipment should also be worn during installation.
Cold installations are a simple and effective way to protect and insulate an area. The right product and installation method can make a significant difference in energy efficiency and in the overall comfort of an area. With the right product and installation method, a cold installation can be a cost-effective and efficient way to increase the insulation of a space.
