Powder Compaction Press Technology Parameters
Powder compaction press technology is an important part of powder metallurgy. Its main purpose is to shape powder material into workpiece by cold deformation method. Powder compaction press technology is divided into three categories based on the deformation mode: hot powder compaction press technology, cold powder compaction press technology and warm powder compaction press technology.
Powder compaction press is a kind of pressure processing machinery, which is composed of frame, transmission part, driving mechanism, supporting parts and control system. The main control system is usually composed of three parts: control system, safety system and monitoring system. In the control system, the pressure and the speed of each action can be adjusted. The safety system only allows the machine to work in a safe working range, and the monitoring system can be used to monitor and adjust the working range of the machine.
Powder compaction press technology parameters mainly include: pressing force, blank size and shape, pressing speed, compression stroke, compression ratio, compression speed and mould material, etc.
1) Pressing force: The pressing force is the strength applied by the powder compaction press to the powder materials. It determines the pressure degree of the materials during the punching process. The user can adjust the pressing force according to the material characteristics and the shape of the product.
2) Blank size and shape: The size and shape of the blank is one of the important parameters of the powder compaction press technology, which directly affects the accuracy and quality of the workpiece. The blank size should be determined according to the size of the workpiece.
3) Pressing speed: The pressing speed is the speed at which the powder materials are pressed. The higher the pressing speed, the faster the material is pressed, so as to improve the production efficiency. However, too high pressing speed may decrease the working precision.
4) Compression stroke: Compression stroke is the stroke distance of the punch during the pressing process. The stroke distance affects the pressing force and the compaction depth. Generally, the maximum compaction depth depends on the compression stroke.
5) Compression ratio: Compression ratio is the ratio of the compaction depth to the initial height of the blank. It is an important factor to determine the density of the workpiece. Generally, the higher the compression ratio, the higher the density of workpiece.
6) Compression speed: Compression speed is the speed at which the powder material is compressed. Generally, the higher the compaction speed, the higher the pressing force and the higher the production efficiency.
7) Mould material: The mould material should be matched with the characteristics of the powder material, including hardness, strength and thermal expansion coefficient. The selection of the mould material is very important for the compaction quality and the service life of the mould.
All these parameters should be taken into account when designing and using the powder compaction press. The selection of powder compaction press should consider the parameters of the powder compaction press technology to ensure the quality and accuracy of the workpiece in production.
