Installation Requirements for Compressed Natural Gas Automobile Special Device (GB/T 19240-2003)
1.General Provisions
This article provides installation requirements and instructions for compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle-mounted special device. This article applies to mobile and fixed type device design and installation.
2.Terminology
2.1 Compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle-mounted special device
It refers to all the components, which are a combination of hardware and software, used to store, control and pressurize CNG on the vehicle.
2.2 Deadweight
The deadweight of a vehicle, excluding the weight of the compressed natural gas vehicle-mounted special equipment, refers to the mass of the vehicle distributed to the road, tire or rail when the vehicle operates at a shallower inclination.
3.Definitions
3.1 Mobile devices
It refers to the portable devices used to transport and store compressed natural gas on the vehicle which are mounted on vehicles and move with the car when it is in operation.
3.2 Fixed devices
It refers to the non-portable device that is fixedly installed on a vehicle for transportation of compressed natural gas on the vehicle.
4.Design Requirements
4.1 The structural design of the CNG vehicle-mounted special device shall meet the requirements of regulations on highway motor vehicle design, manufacture, inspection and operation.
4.2 The shape, size and weight of mobile equipment shall conform to the requirements of road vehicles and their technical parameters.
4.3 All fixed devices shall be designed and manufactured in accordance with the following requirements:
(1) The design of construction and pipe installation of the device should ensure that the line is intact and not leaking.
(2) The line pipe should be tight and not leaking.
(3) The design should ensure that the device can be used safely during its limited service life.
4.4 When the volume of the mobile device exceeds the allowable value of the deadweight for the applicable road or track, the applicable regulations on road vehicles and racks shall be observed.
4.5 In order to ensure the safety of the device, the design should satisfy the requirements of the following items at the same time:
(1) It should not affect the surrounding environment during the working process.
(2) It should not be affected by the vibration of the vehicle.
(3) It should be able to withstand the normal working load.
(4) It should be able to withstand the normal working temperature.
(5) It should be able to resist external oil, moisture, dust and other substances entering into the device.
5.Installation Requirements
5.1 For the design and installation of mobile devices, the following requirements should be met:
(1) There should be enough space for the device, otherwise the installation should be considered where it does not affect other existing components or equipment of the vehicle.
(2) The connection between the device and the vehicle should be reliable.
(3) The device should be installed in an environment that is not easy to be corroded or contaminated.
5.2 For the design and installation of fixed devices, the following requirements should be met:
(1) The design and installation of the fixed device should comply with the applicable regulations on motor vehicle components, other road vehicles and related technical requirements.
(2) The device should be installed firmly.
(3) Reasonable selection of fastening devices and other components should be considered to ensure the reliability of installation.
(4) Connecting lines should be installed in accordance with the design drawings and kept neat, compact and secure.
(5) Connecting lines in the same pipeline type should be used with compatible materials and same specifications.
(6) Non-metallic connecting parts should not be used in connecting lines used for piping natural gas as it may cause leakage or destruction of the line.
6. Quality Control
6.1 All the components used in the design and installation of the compressed natural gas vehicle-mounted special device shall be qualified in accordance with the applicable national regulations on quality and durability of the component.
6.2 The installation and inspection should be carried out in accordance with the instructions on the design drawings.
6.3 During installation and inspection, all the components and devices shall satisfy the requirements of regulations on the motor vehicle component, road vehicles, and related technical detailed records should be kept.
