Xian Economic and Technological Development Zone
Xian Economic and Technological Development Zone (XETDZ) is a national economic and technological development zone. Established in 1988, it is located in Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, northwest China, on the south bank of the Wei River, adjacent to the city of Xi’an. XETDZ is one of the earliest national economic and technological development zones in Shaanxi Province.
XETDZ is a key development zone in China, thanks to its profound historical and cultural heritage, convenient transportation, and outstanding advantage of technologically developing high-tech enterprises. Moreover, the development of XETDZ is also driven by Xian’s strategic location as the center of the Far West, the “dragon head” of the central region in China. With the support of the government and an ever increasing investment from all over the world, XETDZ is making great strides in economic and technological development and has become a high-tech industrial park with a high level of efficiency, energy-saving and environmental protection.
Currently, XETDZ has an area of about 180 square kilometers and a population of over 250,000. There have been 163 projects with total direct foreign investment of 2.5 billion U.S. dollars, as well as 149 projects with investment from all over China amounting to 2.5 billion U.S. dollars. The number of enterprises registered in the zone is increasing year by year. There are more than 4 thousand domestic and foreign enterprises, 19 thousand fixed assets projects and over 400 high-tech enterprises.
The zone has overall promoted the development of nine industries, including the equipment manufacturing, information technology, biotechnology, modern logistics, new energy, new materials, new energy vehicles, advanced manufacture and projects, state-level experimental and testing base, food processing, and modern services. It has gained a total of 62 national patents and earned 6 major awards for scientific and technological achievement.
XETDZ has become a well-known place for investment and entrepreneurship. There are many blocks that can provide a world-class office environment, such as the Yintai City Center, Xinghe Building, City Life Plaza and so on. Furthermore, the zone’s convenient public transportation, rich cultural resources and people-friendly environment create a unique business environment.
