Analysis of Difficulty of Starting Single-cylinder Diesel Engine

Abstract

Single-cylinder diesel engines are widely used in engineering machinery, such as excavators and bulldozers. The difficulty of starting of single-cylinder diesel engine has become a common fault. The analysis of this fault is carried out in this paper. The common faults of single-cylinder diesel engine starting difficulty are analyzed. The reasons of single-cylinder diesel engine starting difficulty are clear. The methods and precautions of prevention are given in this paper. These can provide references and help for the maintenance of single-cylinder diesel engine.

1. Introduction

Single-cylinder diesel engine is widely used in many fields, such as agricultural production, engineering machinery, construction machinery and transportation. Reliable performance and strong adaptability are its main advantages. Therefore, it is widely used. However, due to the long time of use or other factors, single-cylinder diesel engines may easily have the fault of starting difficulty. This will bring great inconvenience to work. Therefore, it is very important to find out the cause of the starting difficulty in time and solve it accordingly.

2. Analysis of the common faults of single-cylinder diesel engine starting difficulty

2.1 Inadequate intake air

When the air intake system is blocked and the air intake volume is not enough, the diesel engine cannot start normally. Insufficient air intake affects the fuel injection process of the diesel engine. Therefore, the amount of fuel exhaled can not reach the expected value, resulting in incomplete combustion, and the diesel engine can not start.

2.2 Poor compression of single-cylinder diesel engine

The compression ratio of single-cylinder diesel engine affects its starting performance. If the compression ratio is not enough, the air intake volume will be small and the fuel injection delay time is long, which will make the starting process difficult.

2.3 Inappropriate injection timing

If the injection timing is not correct, such as too early or too late, the fuel will be ejected from the nozzle too early or too late, so as to make the diesel engine difficult to start.

2.4 Fuel quality deterioration

The quality of fuel often deteriorates due to long-term use or improper storage of fuel. Such fuel cannot provide enough power for the diesel engine starting process, resulting in difficulty in starting diesel engine.

2.5 Fuel shortage

If the fuel is not enough, the fuel injection will be too low, which will make the diesel engine difficult to start.

2.6 Poor injection effect

Due to the wear of the high pressure oil pipe, the fuel injection effect will be reduced, thus making the diesel engine difficult to start.

3. Methods and precautions of prevention

3.1 Regularly check and clean the air intake system

The air intake system should be regularly checked to ensure that there is no blockage of air intake. The air filter should be regularly cleaned to ensure adequate air intake.

3.2 Check the compression ratio regularly

The compression ratio of the single-cylinder diesel engine should be checked regularly, and the relevant parts should be replaced if necessary.

3.3 Check the injection timing regularly

The injection timing should be checked regularly and adjusted if it is found to be inappropriate.

3.4 Regularly check the fuel

Check the fuel regularly to ensure that the fuel is clean and non-corrosive.

3.5 Regularly check the injection effect

The injection effect of the diesel engine should be checked regularly. If the wear of the high pressure oil pipe is found, replace it in time.

3.6 Controlling fuel supply

The fuel supply should be controlled properly, neither too little nor too much.

4. Conclusion

Starting difficulty is a common fault of single-cylinder diesel engines. The reasons for the difficulty of starting a single-cylinder diesel engine include inadequate intake air, poor compression of a single-cylinder diesel engine, inappropriate injection timing, fuel deterioration and fuel shortage. In order to ensure the normal use of single-cylinder diesel engine, it is necessary to carry out regular maintenance and maintenance, so as to solve the problem of starting difficulty in time.
