Hot-rolled steel with special cross-sections for agricultural machinery (YB/T5007-1993)

Introduction

This hot-rolled steel is specially designed for agricultural machinery according to YB/T5007-1993. The use of this steel is to improve the structural performance of agricultural machinery, such as the strength, toughness, deformability and weldability of the agricultural machinery, so as to meet the application requirements of agricultural machinery. The chemical composition, mechanical properties and technical requirements of the steel are all specified in the corresponding standard. This Steel is made of low-carbon alloy steel and is used in the manufacture of components for agricultural machinery, such as agricultural machinery shafts, axles, gear shafts, and other parts of agricultural machinery.

Composition of Hot-rolled Steel with Special Cross-Sections for Agricultural Machinery

The steel for hot-rolled steel with special cross-sections for agricultural machinery according to YB/T5007-1993 is low carbon alloy steel, and the chemical composition of the steel is shown in Table 1.

Table 1:The chemical composition of steel

Chemical composition C Si Mn P S Cr Ni Mo Cu ≤0.17 0.17-0.37 0.50-0.90 ≤0.025 ≤0.025 ≤0.15 ≤0.30 ≤0.20 ≤0.30

The above table indicates that the chemical composition of this steel includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), and copper (Cu). The chemical composition limits of each element in the steel are all specified in the standard, and the content requirements for each element are strictly controlled to ensure the mechanical properties and performance requirements of the steel.

Mechanical Properties of Hot-rolled Steel with Special Cross-Sections for Agricultural Machinery

The mechanical properties of this steel are specified in the standard.

Table 2: The mechanical properties of steel

Tensile strength Yield strength Elongation Hardness ≥400Mpa ≥245Mpa ≥22% ≤140HB

Tensile strength refers to the limit state that the structure or component can bear in the axial state tensile stress. Yield strength is the stress at which the sample has a 0.2% permanent strain. Elongation is the percentage of permanent stretching to the original sample size. Hardness is the resistance of material surface to permanent deformation.

The above table shows that the mechanical properties of this steel are mainly tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness. The specified mechanical properties can ensure that the steel has good mechanical properties and performance, and can meet the application requirements of agricultural machinery.

Technical Requirements of Hot-rolled Steel with Special Cross-Sections for Agricultural Machinery

Technical requirements are specified in YB/T5007-1993 including the performance requirements, shape, size and weight tolerances, and the inspection rules.

(1) Performance requirements: The performance requirements of this steel include surface quality, compositional analysis and mechanical properties.

(2) Shape, size and weight tolerances: The shape, size, and weight tolerances of this steel are specified in the standard.

(3) Inspection rules: The inspection rules include inspection of raw materials, inspection of intermediate and semi-finished products before heat treatment, inspection of finished products, and inspection of products after heat treatment.

Conclusion

Although the standard for Hot-rolled steel with special cross-sections for agricultural machinery (YB/T5007-1993) is mainly for Chinese agricultural machinery, it provides an important reference for the development of other countries agricultural machinery. The chemical composition, mechanical properties, and technical requirements of this steel have been specifically specified in the standard, which can ensure the performance requirements of agricultural machinery components. The hot-rolled steel with special cross-sections for agricultural machinery is characterized by good workability, weldability, formability, and good mechanical properties, so it has been widely used in the manufacture of agricultural machinery components.
