The installation position selection of the electromagnetic inductor, the probe and the impedance attenuator
The electromagnetic induction, the probe and the impedance attenuator is essential for the machine application. Electromagnetic induction is an electromagnetic process by which metal target can be detected by the generated alternating magnetic field. In metal detection and sensing, an electromagnet acts as a receiver for metal targets. The probe is a sensor used to detect changes in the environment. It can transmit physical data, such as temperature and pressure, to a computer. The impedance attenuator is used to reduce the effect of the resistance of the electrical circuit on the measured signals. All these components are important to the machine application, however a proper installation position is needed to ensure their best performance.
The electromagnetic induction is mostly used in metal detection, and there are also some applications in areas such as encoder and positioner. Generally, a certain distance between the transmitter and the receiver is required which should just be enough to ensure the signal being emitted by the transmitter will not be greatly weakened when reaching the receiver. An ideal installation position is in the middle of the ground, where the target object is at the center and all around the position, the transmitter and receiver are distributed evenly. As for it’s position in the air, for example in aerospace, the ideal installation position should remain closely with the object flying in the air, and the transmitter and receiver should be as close as possible, since it is more complicated for the electromagnetic to propagate in air due to the effect of air flow, temperature and pressure change.
The probe is used to detect the environmental changes, such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, etc. The installation position selection is highly depended on the attribute of the environment. Generally, the installation position of the probe should be far away from any possible source of interference, such as artificial heat, any sources of vibrations, electromagnetic interference, etc. It is important to place the probe in an appropriate position close to the measured object, so that it doesn’t affect the measurement results but achieves the maximum sensitivity.
The impedance attenuator, as the name implies, is used to reduce the effect of the resistance of the electrical circuit on the measured signals. It should be installed at the same side of the measured signals’ line, but in a parallel connection with the signal line. It is essential to select an appropriate position close to the signal input connection and far enough from where the interference of other components is strong.
In conclusion, the installation position selection of the electromagnetic induction, the probe and the impedance attenuator plays a vital role in the machine application. Different selections should be taken for different applications. The understood of installation position selection is essential for the machine application efficiency and stability, and should be carefully considered before making any selection.
