The use of residual heat in metallurgical plants
The waste heat generated in the metallurgical plants needs to be handled properly. Generally, the waste heat will be released directly into the atmosphere, which not only affects the operation of the plant, but also pollutes the environment. Therefore, correctly and effectively using this kind of remaining heat will firstly be beneficially to the environment, and secondly greatly reduce the production cost. Through the reasonable utilization of residual heat in the metallurgical factory, massive energy consumption of metallurgical factories can be reduced, and a good economic benefits can be achieved. Therefore, the reasonable utilization of residual heat has become the objective pursued by enterprises.
The thermal efficiency of metallurgical plants is generally low and a large amount of energy is lost or wasted in the form of thermal energy, resulting in huge energy waste. The application of residual heat recovery technology in metallurgical plants can reduce or even eliminate these energy losses, saving large energy consumption for metallurgical plants and increasing their economic benefits. Taking the iron and steel industry as an example, the energy lost in production is more than 50% of the total energy consumed, most of which is lost in the form of high temperature waste heat, if reasonable and effective use measures can be taken, the energy consumption can be greatly reduced.
When the waste heat carrying flue gas enters the waste heat boiler of the metallurgical plant, some of the useful heat energy in the flue gas is recycled by the waste heat boiler, and the exhaust gas is cooled to the atmosphere after being recycled, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving. The waste heat boiler collects the waste heat, recovers the sensible heat and latent heat in the flue gas through the convective heat exchange and reasonable matching of the economizer, and recovers part of the waste heat. The recovered high temperature steam can be used to generate electricity or for other heat supply purposes.
The utilization of residual heat in the metallurgical plant has certain characteristics, the first is safety and stability, because the residual heat is of low temperature and low pressure, has low requirements for boiler safety and pressure control; the second is energy saving and emission reduction, by using the waste heat boiler to recover and reuse the waste heat, no additional energy sources are needed and the pollution emissions are reduced; the third is high efficiency, through reasonable matching between the waste heat boiler and the economizer, and use part of the recovered waste heat, the utilization efficiency of the plant is greatly improved.
In summary, the use of the residual heat of the metallurgical plant is of great significance to environmental protection and energy saving. The reasonable use of the waste heat energy can reduce the energy consumption, reduce emissions and improve the economic efficiency and benefits of the metallurgical plant. However, due to the huge investment in processing and utilization technology, the application of this technology is relatively slow, and it is necessary to popularize and vigorously promote this waste heat recovery technology.
