摘要
This paper provides an overview of the standards for international steel industry and how they can be compared from nation to nation. The paper discusses the important properties of steel as standardized by most of the nations and how these properties affect product design and performance. To illustrate, it is important to understand the yield strength, tensile strength, impact resistance, elongation, hardness, formability and weldability properties of steel. Based on the comparison of national standards, the paper provides a few examples of steel products and their comparison. A comparison of the standards of China, United States, Japan, France and Germany can be documented on the basis of their product specifications. The paper then goes on to discuss the potential impact of the international steel standard on the international steel industry as well as the potential areas of opportunities that can be discussed while implementing the standards in a given nation. Finally, the paper provides a brief summary and conclusion of the research conducted and the findings presented in the paper. Overall, this paper provides a valuable insight into the process of understanding and examining the standards for international steel industry and how to apply them effectively for product design and performance.
