The American Standard nickel-chromium casting alloy with high temperature corrosion resistance is a material with quite a few grades. The alloy is mainly composed of nickel and chromium, to which are added other elements such as molybdenum, cobalt, nickel, copper, manganese and titanium, to improve the performance of the alloy. The grades and the chemical composition (mass fraction, in %) are as follows:

All of these American Standard nickel-chromium casting alloys have excellent high temperature corrosion resistance and are suitable for high temperature casting and manufacturing operations. They are corrosion resistant to many corrosive atmospheres and liquids, including hydrochloric acids, nitric acids and phosphoric acids. In addition, they have excellent cold workability, making them ideal for intricate shapes and applications.

Furthermore, all of these alloys are resistant to thermal shocks and to thermal stresses, making them suitable for multiple industrial and commercial applications where thermal stability and durability are needed. In addition, the alloys have excellent formability and good strength at both room temperature and elevated temperatures.

Finally, it is important to note that all of these American Standard nickel-chromium casting alloys have outstanding resistance to carburization and oxidation. Therefore, they are suitable for components that are exposed to high temperatures and that may be exposed to carbon or oxygen. As such, they are often used in components that are exposed to high temperature and aggressive environments, such as in aerospace and industrial applications.
