GB/T 3414-1994 Hot-rolled special steels for coal mining machinery

This Standard specifies requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate for the hot-rolled special steel used for coal mining machinery. This Standard applies to hot-rolled special steel of nominal thicknesses from 6 mm ~ 140 mm and nominal width from 500 mm ~ 3000 mm of coal mining machinery, such as monorail, drum cutter, roadheader, scraper winch, conveyor and crusher, etc.

This Standard is applicable tostructural steel, bearing steel, cold heading steel, automobile steel and gear steel.

1. Classification

Classifications include steel grades, technologies, structural styles and sizes. The steel grades are specified in Table 1.

Table 1 Steel grades and application areas

Steel Grade Application Area

1. Monorail rail clamp: CGB-850

2. Drum cutter blade: CGB-850

3. Roadheader bucket teeth: CGB-850

4. Scraper winch gear: CGB-850

5. Conveyor sprocket: CGB-850

6. Crusher jaw: CGB-850

2. Requirements

2.1 Appearance and size

The surface of the hot-rolled steel shall meet the relevant requirements of the corresponding standard, and the size shall comply with the agreement between the parties.

2.2 Chemical composition

The chemical composition of the steel meets the requirements of Table 2.

Table 2 Chemical composition of steel

Steel Grade C Si Mn P S Cr Mo CGB-850 0.10-0.18 ≤ 0.60 0.90-1.20 ≤ 0.035 ≤ 0.035 0.15-0.35 0.10-0.20

2.3 Mechanical properties

The mechanical properties of the steel meet the requirements of Table 3.

Table 3 Mechanical properties of steel

Steel Grade Yield Strength Re MPa σ B MPa Elongation δ5 % ≥ Hardness HB CGB-850 500-680 ≥ 420 ≥ 17 –

2.4 Non-destructive testing

This Standard does not give requirements for non-destructive testing. However, if the parties agree to carry out such inspections, then B Ultrasonic Testing can be adopted.

3. Test Methods

3.1 Chemical composition

The chemical composition of the steel shall be tested using spark atomic emission spectrometer or equivalent method.

3.2 Mechanical properties

The mechanical properties of the steel shall be tested using a tensile testing machine or equivalent.

4. Inspection Rules

The inspection of finished products shall include in-process, spot or two-sample inspections and mechanical blowouts performed by the supplier or its appointed agent.

5. Packaging, Marking and Quality Certificate

The packaging, marking and quality certificate of the hot-rolled steel shall meet the requirements of GB/T 176-1991 and the relevant regulations of the State.

6. Supplementary Provisions

This Standard has been translated from GB/T 3414-1994, “Hot-rolled Special Steels for Coal Mining Machinery”.

7. Effect and Implementation Date

This Standard shall enter into force as of the date of promulgation. The original Standard was drafted by the Machinery Department of the China Machinery Industry Federation. This Standard was approved for implementation by the China National Standardization Management Committee on December 21, 1994. This Standard shall be superseded by February 10, 1999.
