Abstract
Vanadium steel is a kind of petroleum steel with high carbon content, special metal elements and excellent properties. Proper water-based coating composition can not only reduce the wear effect of casting on the surface of cast steel parts, but also improve the corrosion resistance of steel parts. In this paper, the suitable coating components and ratio for vanadium steel parts are analyzed, so as to ensure the safety, stability and reliability of casting parts.
Introduce
Vanadium steel, also called alloy steel, is a metallurgical steel containing certain amount of alloy elements, such as Cr, Ni, Mo and so on. Compared with other steels, it has higher strength and its plasticity and fracture toughness are also better. Therefore, vanadium steel parts are widely used in automobile, engineering machinery and other industries, in addition, vanadium steel parts are widely used in casting process.
Vanadium steel parts are very susceptible to the erosion of combined atmosphere and medium, so when making castings, it is necessary to use certain protective measures, such as insulation paint, galvanized layer or spray paint layer. Among them, coating is an effective long-term protection method, so an appropriate coating formulation must be selected according to the characteristics of the cast steel parts.
Configuration of water-based coating for Vanadium steel casting
Water-based coating for vanadium steel casting is mainly composed of stabilizer, curing agent, pigment, filler, protective agent, solvent and water.
1. A stabilizer is one of the most important components of a water-based coating. It can not only give water-based coatings good storage performance and prevent the formation of lumps and precipitation, but also keep the pH value at a reasonable and stable level. In addition, it can prevent the corrosion of steel parts by protecting them from the media, and thus prolong the service life of castings.
2. The curing agent can improve the adhesion, hardness and corrosion resistance of water-based coatings. The most commonly used curing agents are Isocyanate and Phenolic resin, which can form certain organic films and improve the protective performance of water-based coatings.
3. The role of pigments is to give water-based coatings the desired color and reduce its hygroscopicity. Quality pigments should not only have the properties of light and weather resistance, but also should not be easily affected by the chemical solution in the atmosphere.
4. Fillers can reduce the cost of water-based coatings, and can also reduce the surface structure of vanadium steel parts, and reduce the changes caused by casting defects, so as to make the surface of vanadium steel parts more smooth and beautiful.
5. Protective agents are compounds with certain electrical properties, and they can form a gas-permeable insulation film on the surface of steel components. They can slow down the corrosion of steel components and prevent them from rusting.
6. Compatible solvents or water is used as a vehicle for carrying the components above and forming a liquid phase formulation. Water is mainly used as vehicle, and solvent oil and alcoholic solvent are used to adjust the viscosity of the system.
On the basis of the above components, the suitable coating components and ratio for vanadium steel casting can be adjusted according to the needs of different operating conditions and environmental factors, so as to ensure the safety and reliable performance of castings.
Conclusion
Vanadium steel is a kind of material with higher strength, whose surface is easy to be eroded by media and atmosphere. In order to prevent and reduce the surface wear of vanadium steel parts and improve their corrosion resistance, it is necessary to use a suitable water-based coating composition. Through the analysis of water-based coating components and proportions in this paper, we can get an appropriate formulation to protect the castings, so as to ensure the safety and reliable use of the casting parts.
