Aluminium foil rolling is the process of producing thin and light rolled aluminium coils with a thickness less than 0.2mm down to 0.006mm.The process includes several stages including hot and cold rolling. In order to produce rolled aluminium coils with specific qualities, various methods and stages of cold and hot rolling may be used to adjust the thickness and other physical properties of the aluminium foil coils.
The production of aluminium foil is complicated and highly specialized. The manufacturing process of aluminium foil rolling consists of several steps. Firstly, the process begins by receiving the raw aluminium material which is in the form of a cast billet which is heated and then rolled into a thin gauged coil. This coil is then further composed of several more layers of aluminium in order to reach the desired gauge, texture and strength.

The number of times the coil is passed through the press is dependent on the thickness and width of the material. After the foil has been pressed to the desired thickness, it is usually subjected to further cold rolling or stretching. This will further enhance the strength and texture of the foil and create a desired product that has an excellent uniform finish.
