INTRODUCTION

X3CrNiMoCuN24-6-5 is a stainless steel of high resistance to corrosion in moderately, corrosive environments containing chlorine such as sea water, natural and artificial brines and acidic liquids, with a particularly high mechanical strength. This steel is mainly used in seawater equipment and in the chemical, food and drink processing industries, as well as for domestic applications. This steel is resistant to corrosion under atmospheric, chloride and sulfuric acid conditions.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION

X3CrNiMoCuN24-6-5 is made up of the following elements:

• Carbon (C): 0.04-0.07 %

• Manganese (Mn): 1.00-1.50 %

• Silicon (Si): 0.30-0.60 %

• Chromium (Cr): 21.00-24.00 %

• Nickel (Ni): 15.00-16.00 %

• Molybdenum (Mo): 0.5-1.5 %

• Copper (Cu): 0.15- 0.20 %

• Nitrogen (N): 0.10- 0.15 %

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES

X3CrNiMoCuN24-6-5 has high mechanical strength and good fatigue resistance. Its mechanical properties include:

• Tensile strength (σb): σb≥610MPa

• Yield strength (σs) : σs≥490MPa

• Elongation (δ5): δ5≥25 %

CORROSION RESISTANCE

X3CrNiMoCuN24-6-5 has excellent corrosion resistance in chloride and sulfuric acid environments, as well as in seawater and other moderately, corrosive environments. In addition, it is resistant to localized corrosion such as pitting, crevice corrosion and intergranular corrosion.

WELDABILITY

X3CrNiMoCuN24-6-5 can be welded using all standard welding techniques, including tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal-inert gas (MIG), and submerged arc welding (SAW). It is important to use proper joint design and pre-heat and post-weld heat treatments to ensure the highest quality welds.

APPLICATIONS
