History of Frank Lampard
Frank Lampard is an English former professional footballer and current manager at Chelsea Football Club. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation, Lampard is often credited as being crucial to Chelseas success in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
Lampard began his career at West Ham United and spent 13 seasons in the Premier League with the London club. In 2001, Lampard moved to Chelsea, where he made over 400 league appearances and captained the team to three Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, and four FA Cup titles. In 2013, he moved to the United States to play for New York City FC, and in 2016 he retired from playing football.
Since then, Lampard has managed several different clubs, most notably Derby County in the Championship and Chelsea in the Premier League. During his time at Derby, he guided them to a Championship Playoff Final and gained promotion to the Premier League. During his time as manager of Chelsea, hed become the second manager to have won two Premier League titles with the club.
Lampard made his international debut for England in 1999 and went on to win 107 caps, making him the fourth-most capped England player of all time. He is th third-highest scoring midfielder for England, behind only Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard. He participated in three FIFA World Cups and two UEFA European Championships.
Lampard has won various individual accolades throughout his career, including England Player of the Year, UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, Chelsea Player of the Year, FWA Tribute Award, and more.
