An Analysis of Steel Ball and Its Problem of Poor Balling

Steel ball, also known as steel ball, is a kind of metal ball made of carbon steel. Its purpose is mainly used to reduce the impact force and play as a grinding and wear-resistant material. Steel balls have a wide range of applications and play an important role in industrial production.

However, when the steel balls are produced, the spherical degree is sometimes not up to the standard, which causes the steel balls to be deformed and balling.

The spherical degree of steel balls refers to the degree of roundedness and consists of two parts. One is the degree of roundness which completes the original shape of the steel ball formed by the same circle after rolling. The other is the size of the round narrowness which is formed by the steel balls roundness, and then the steel ball cant even form the desired round.

The reasons for the poor balling of steel balls are mainly divided into four aspects.

First, the material composition of steel balls affects the balling process. The quality of the steel balls is determined by the quality of its material composition. If the carbon content is too low and the spheroidizing element is too low, the formed steel balls will be defected and balling results will be affected.

Second, the method of balling affects the balling process. The choice of balling method has a direct impact on the quality of the steel balls. If the balling method is too traditional and the pressing force is too small, it will not only cause the spherical degree of the steel ball to be insufficient, but also cause the balling to be uneven.

Third, the heat treatment of steel balls affects the balling process. Heat treatment is an important step in the balling process. If the temperature is too low or the cooling process is not up to standard, it will cause the inner layer of the steel ball to be coarse and cause poor balling.

Fourth, the surface treatment of steel balls affects the balling process. If the surface treatment technology is not perfect, it will cause the strength of the steel ball to be low and not meet the standard of the balling process.

In short, the balling process of steel balls is affected by the materials, methods, heat treatment and surface treatment. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the selection of materials when producing steel balls, strictly control the heating and cooling processes, select appropriate surface treatment methods, and strive to produce perfect steel balls.
