The Alloy Steel Grade X22CrNi17, also known as AISI 310, is a heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel. With reliable mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, X22CrNi17 has been extensively used in the production of various industrial components and parts for its outstanding performance in various industrial fields.

Originally a Swiss manufacturer, X22CrNi17 (or AISI 310) is made of a minimum of 25% chromium and 20% nickel. Thanks to this special composition with great resistance to temperature, X22CrNi17 can be applied in a variety of extreme heat and corrosive applications beyond normal conditions.

The most remarkable property of the X22CrNi17 is its incredible ability to maintain the strength of its structure up to 2000℃ (or 3900°F). Besides, given its high chromium and nickel content, X22CrNi17 is also highly resistance to oxidation (or scaling). This makes it an ideal choice for equipment processing high temperature, such as in industrial furnaces.

X22CrNi17, due to its excellent mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties, is extensively used in a number of industries, including petrochemical industries and engineering industries. For instance, the heat exchanger tubing components on Petro exploration drilling rigs, parts for synthetic fibers, and production of valve components are manufactured with X22CrNi17 due to its performance in extreme corrosion conditions at high temperatures.

In addition, X22CrNi17 (or AISI 310) is also popularly used in parts of turbocharging components. Thanks to its great capability of maintaining structural integrity at higher temperatures, X22CrNi17 is particularly suitable to make rotors, turbine blades, and compressor wheels that are placed deep down in engine engines and under immense pressure.

Apart from its advantages in extreme environment, the fabricators also found that X22CrNi17 could be used in household appliances. For instance, the average coffee maker’s stainless steel coffee filter basket that is made of X22CrNi17 (or AISI 310).

Furthermore, X22CrNi17 is also used in food-processing and medical industries for its additional features such as non-magnetic attribute, abrasion-resistance, and low thermal expansion. For example, X22CrNi17 (or AISI 310) can be seen on some of the most hygienic production lines and various medical instrument parts.

Overall, the Alloy Steel Grade X22CrNi17 (or AISI 310) has a widely recognized heat and corrosion resistance capability, providing great strength and reliability for industrial applications. This is why X22CrNi17 frequently used as an excellent choice in extreme scenarios.
