GB12137-89 Gas Cylinder Air Tightness Test Method

Introduction

This standard specifies the requirements, test conditions, test items, results evaluation, and marking, packaging and transport of gas cylinders for air tightness testing. This Standard applies to the air tightness test of welded steel gas cylinders, aluminum alloy gas cylinders, stainless steel gas cylinders, seamless steel gas cylinders and other rigid gas cylinders with a class 2 working pressure of 2Mpa or higher.

Meterial

The material of the test cylinder should meet the provisions of GB1805 or its application documents.

Test conditions

The fully closed test device should be used when the test is carried out. Pressure test should be carried out with pressurizing device. The pressure should be raised once and then decrease once in the pressure test. The concentrated pressure of the air tightness test is 0.07mpa.

Test items

The test items are inspected with predetermined leakage rates, and the detected leakage rates are not allowed to exceed 0.003mp (0.00003 MPa).

Results Evaluation

The test results shall comply with the requirements of this Standard. The results of all air tightness tests of any one of the air tightness tests shall comply with the provisions of this Standard.

Marking, packaging and transport

(1) The tested gas cylinder shall have complete marking according to the prescribed regulations, including the product name, manufacturers identification, type and batch number, and the date and results of the tightness test;

(2) After the gas cylinder has passed the pressure test, it should be effectively sealed and transported;

(3) The length of the pack in the transport of cylinders should not exceed 12m, and the highest stacking height should not exceed 4m;

(4) The support bracket distance during transportation should not exceed 3m. The support structure should be strong and strong.

Conclusion

The air tightness test of the gas cylinder must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of GB12137-89. The material of the test cylinder should also meet the provisions of GB1805 or its application documents. The test items shall be inspected according to the predetermined leakage rate. The test results shall comply with the requirements of this Standard. The product name and results of the pressure test shall be marked on the cylinder and sealed and transported after the pressure test is passed. The length of the package during transportation should not exceed 12m, and the support bracket distance should not exceed 3m.
