Guizhou Aluminum Plant Development
Guizhou Aluminum Plant is a large aluminum manufacturing enterprise in Guizhou Province, China owned by China Guizhou Aluminum Company, which is state controlled. Founded in 1987, the plant specializes in the production of aluminum ingots and plates in combination with the primary production of alumina. Under its wings it also includes 16 related businesses and a number of important subsidiaries.
The main facility contains an integrated production process and has a design capacity of 500,000 tons of aluminum per annum. Theoretical and practical production value is achieved through the integration of purification processes, hydrogen reduction, smelting, casting, and recycling processes.
In order to make further economic development possible, the company has set three strategic objectives, the first being to deepen its technological backwardness. In the past activities were focused mostly on the development of backing platforms, coal and alumina production, waste recycling, and application development. By focusing on the development of higher efficiency and reducing the wastage of all operations, Guizhou Aluminum Plant is focusing on enhancing the quality and cost-effectiveness of its products
In line with its second strategic objective, Guizhou Aluminum Plant is focusing on optimizing its management processes. The company has implemented a variety of enterprise management approaches, such as activity-based costing, process-level incentive compensation systems, and supply chain optimisation. All these management approaches are aimed at reducing operational costs and improving operational efficiency
The third strategic objective is to fully tap the financial potential of the company. The company has established a financial centre, which is specialized in managing the day-to-day financial operations, such as sales and accounts receivable, financing and loans, and stock management. Through an experienced financial management team and an advanced accounting information system, the company is able to not only plan and control the financial resources more effectively, but also ensure full compliance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation.
These changes in focus, objectives, planning and budgeting have all helped to improve the overall efficiency, cost savings and output of the aluminum plant in Guizhou Province. This includes improved power, fuel and raw material efficiency, and strategically positioning the plant to take advantage of the regions benefits such as low cost natural resources and labour. Guizhou Aluminum Plant is also actively investing and redeveloping its plant facilities in a way that complements industrial modernisation and sustainable development policies.
Overall, the management of Guizhou Aluminum Plant is steadily and strategically working to foster high efficiency and greater returns in a sustainable manner. The ultimate goal is to strengthen the position of the companies as an integral part of the global aluminum industry and to ensure sustained growth and prosperity for the whole Chinese metallurgical industry in the long run.
