1 Introduction
Due to their special working environment, machine tools are often exposed to high-speed sliding friction and corrosive medium during work. If the guide is worn too much and the accuracy of the machine tool is affected, it can only be restored by repairing and replacing parts. In the repair of machine tool guide, the wear-resistant coating is applied to improve the wear resistance of the guide to prevent wear and tear and extend its service life.
2 Characteristics of Wear of Machine Tool Guide
The wear of machine tool guide mainly includes mechanical wear and chemical wear, and the speed of wear is related to the load and type of lubricant. When the load is small and the type of lubricant is normal, the speed of mechanical wear is slow, while when the load is large and the type of lubricant is not enough, the speed of mechanical wear will be accelerated. In addition, when the machine tool lubricant contains water, chemical wear will occur immediately, and the speed of wear will be much faster than that of mechanical wear.
3 Application of Wear-resistant Coating in the Machine Tool Guide Repair
The wear-resistant coating can not only prevent wear, but also can be used for the surface repair of the machine tool guide. Under the conditions of low load, normal lubrication and new machine parts, the cage wear can be avoided for a long time, because the lubrication film is easy to form and the necessary protection is obtained on the surface of the guide. On the other hand, if severe wear has occurred due to a large load and poor lubrication, wear-resistant coating can be used as an effective measure to improve wear resistance.
The structure of wear-resistant coating includes two types: dense film coating and porous film coating. The dense film coating is mainly used to enhance wear resistance, such as oxidation coating and chemical conversion coating, while the porous film coating is mainly used to improve the lubrication performance. In the repair of the guide, it is necessary to choose the appropriate wear-resistant coating to improve the wear resistance and lubrication performance of the guide.
4 Selection Points of Wear-resistant Coating
In order to select the appropriate wear-resistant coating for machine tool guide repair, the following points need to be considered:
(1) The type of wear-resistant coating: the wear-resistant coating should be selected according to the working condition, performance requirement and structure type of the machine tool guide. If only wear resistance is required, a dense film coating should be used; if lubrication performance is also required, a porous film coating should be used.
(2) The chemical composition of the wear-resistant coating: the wear-resistant coating should have a certain corrosion resistance according to the composition of the lubricant and the working environment of the machine tool. In addition, the selected wear-resistant coating should have a chemical bond with the base material of the machine tool guide.
(3) The film thickness of the wear-resistant coating: The film thickness should be appropriate, too thick or too thin, it is unfavorable for improving wear resistance.
(4) The hardness of the wear-resistant coating: Generally speaking, the hardness of the wear-resistant coating should not be lower than the hardness of the substrate or the surface coating of the machined parts.
(5) The surface finish of the wear-resistant coating: The surface should not have any defects such as pinholes, surface cracks and grinding marks, which will reduce the wear resistance of the surface.
5 Conclusion
Wear-resistant coating is an important measure to improve the wear resistance of machine tool guide. When selecting wear-resistant coating, it is necessary to select the appropriate coating according to the type of wear and the working conditions of the machine tool guide. This paper has summarized the selection points of wear-resistant coating, which can be used as a reference in the repair of machine tool guide.
