Baogang Steel Production Process

Located in China, Baogang Steel is a leading steel producer. With advanced technology and an expansive production scale, Baogang Steel has been a significant force in the international steel industry for over four decades.

In its modern production processes, the company utilizes cutting-edge technology to create a variety of steel products for economic building, cooking utensils, transportation, construction, and other practical uses. The steel production process at Baogang Steel involves several stages, beginning with raw material procurement and ending with the distribution and marketing of finished products.

To begin the steel production process, Baogang Steel procures raw materials such as iron ore, coke, and limestone. These materials are obtained from nearby sources, often from the company’s own mines, and are transported to the steel mill.

Once the raw materials reach the mill, they are melted in a blast furnace and then subjected to a process of oxygen blowing, which removes impurities like nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus. This process is known as basic oxygen steelmaking.

After the steel has been refined and cooled, it is moved to a continuous caster for further processing. In the continuous caster, the steel is heated and poured into long strands that are then cut into shorter pieces that are ready for further rolling. The rolling process, or hot rolling, shapes the pieces and reduces their dimensions by forcing them through a series of roller stands.

Once the steel pieces have reached the desired size and shape, they are ready for further processing. At Baogang Steel, steel products are often sent to the galvanizing plant, where various levels of galvanization are applied to the steel. Galvanization is the process of coating steel with a layer of zinc to protect it against rust.

Once the galvanization is complete, the steel is moved to a pickling line, where acid is used to clean the steel before it is moved to the cold-rolling line. In the cold-rolling line, the steel is further rolled and then subjected to several treatments, such as tempering, annealing, and surface treatments like painting and plating. After these treatments, the steel is ready for shipment.

Before shipment, the finished product is carefully inspected and tested to ensure that the quality standards are met. Once the product passes inspection, it is packed and sent to various warehouses around the country for distribution.

Baogang Steel’s steel production process is a successful and efficient one, thanks to the company’s commitment to research and development. The process is designed to produce high-quality steel products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each stage of production at Baogang Steel is closely monitored and continuously evaluated in order to maximize efficiency. The result is a reliable and durable supply of steel products that meet the highest standards.
