Design of Sampling Preparation System for Metallurgical Raw Materials

Metallurgy is the research and application of metal smelting, refining, and other processing technologies. The preparation of samples for metallurgical raw materials is the basis for ensuring the accuracy of process control and the quality of products. This paper introduces the design of a sampling preparation system for metallurgical raw materials.

Firstly, the main structure of the sampling preparation system should include sampling, sample pre-crushing, sample pulverization and sample conditioning. Sampling devices used for sampling raw materials include fixed mechanical samplers and automatic samplers. After that, sample pre-crushing devices such as jaw crushers and cone crushers are used to reduce the particle size of the sample, and then sample pulverizers such as raymond mills, vertical mills and ball mills are used to further grind the sample into powder. Finally, the sample conditioning module includes the feeding, cooling and discharging devices, the calibration device and the dust-removing device.

Secondly, the control of the system needs to be considered. The control of the metallurgical sample preparation system requires both logical control and process control. Logical control is mainly achieved by using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), while process control is mainly achieved by using actuators, feed-forward and other elements.

Thirdly, the safety of the system must be considered. The safety of the system should be ensured based on technical measures. For example, pressure sensors, flow sensors, level sensors and other signals can be used to issue an alarm when an abnormality occurs, and a safety valve can be used to tie the pressure.

In conclusion, the design of a sampling preparation system for metallurgical raw materials involves a complex process, including structure selection, control system design and safety control, etc. All of these design points must be effectively solved in order to ensure a reliable and safe sample preparation system for metallurgical raw materials.
