China is upgrading the national standard for mechanical engineering CAD drawing. GB/T14665-1998 shall replace the previous version GB/T14665-93.
In order to better measure the technical standards of mechanical engineering CAD drawings, Aimed specifically at the needs of Chinese mechanical engineering, the State Administration of Quality Supervision and Technical Supervision developed the GB/T14665-1998 National Standard Scheme for Mechanical Engineering CAD Drawings. This Standard has been carefully designed, taking into account the specific needs of Chinese mechanical engineering and the current international advanced standards. The intention is to be able to integrate the technologies of the three disciplines—electrical engineering, instrumentation and automation— to meet the overall needs of the engineering process and improve the precision of mechanical engineering CAD drawings.
This Standard has 11 chapters, covering general principles, structure, figures, symbols, general rules and regulations, article numbers, title, signature format, report/certificate and quality management of drawings. It provides unified technical requirements for the entire preparation process of mechanical engineering CAD drawings, from the design to the classification of drawings, to the preparation of figures, symbols and titles, and to the reporting and certification of prototype parts. The Standard is divided into two levels according to the complexity of mechanical engineering drawings. By regrouping the items and making the contents simpler, it provides guidance for the classification and organization of drawings with different levels of complexity.
GB/T14665-1998 is more up-to-date than the original GB/T14665-93 version, integrating the mechanical engineering CAD drawing standards of other countries with Chinese special needs and taking into account the development of modern CAD technology. It is hoped that through this Standard, the mechanical engineering CAD drawing standard of this country can be kept in step with international advanced level.
