Nitronic 50 is a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel that has corrosion resistance greater than 304 and 316 stainless steels. It is an economical solution for applications where resistance to chloride corrosion is necessary. Nitronic 50 has excellent resistant to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and intergranular corrosion. It also offers great strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. It is very ductile, allowing for easy forming operations.

Nitronic 50 is often used in aerospace and power generation applications. It is used in jet aircraft turbine blades, propeller shafts, and other applications requiring wear resistance and high strength properties. It is ideal for components used in desalination plants, marine atmospheres and environments that are exposed to chloride and other aggressive chemicals. This grade is also used in oil refinery and petrochemical plants, and in medical instruments that come into contact with corrosive liquids. It is widely used in food processing and pharmaceutical industries, as it is a non-toxic materials that is hypoallergenic and resistant to corrosion.

Nitronic 50 is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel that provides impressive corrosion resistance, even in harsh marine environments. It is extremely tough, with high tensile and yield strength, good ductility and impact strength, and goodhardness. Nitronic 50 features good machinability, and low temperature forming operations can be achieved with relative ease. It also exhibits excellent weldability, allowing for multiple welding processes including arc welding, inert gas welding and oxy-acetylene welding.

Nitronic 50 is available in a variety of shapes, including round and hexagonal bars, flat bars, plates and sheets. It is available in various sizes depending on the application requirements, and is typically supplied in solution annealed condition. Extensive testing is performed on each order, ensuring that it meets the highest quality standards and requirements.
