Sintering Disc Sintering
Sintering discs are used in the sintering process as a crucible to contain the metal material or alloy that is being heated during the sintering process. The discs are made of graphite or ceramic and provide a uniform temperature across the disc and an even heating of the material, allowing for a consistent result.
The discs are used in a furnace and must be placed in the furnace and heated to the desired temperature before the sintering process can begin. This heating process can be accomplished either by conduction or induction, depending on the material being heated and the size and shape of the disc. Typically, the disc will be heated up to a temperature of about 850 degrees Celsius for most sintering processes.
Once the disc is heated to the desired temperature, the metal material or alloy is poured into the disc, and the sintering process is started. During the process, the disc is heated to a higher temperature until the metal or alloy melts, and forms a sintered compact layer over the disc. This compact layer will form as a durable, uniform layer and will provide a homogeneous material.
The sintering process is used in various industrial processes, such as in the production of silver or gold alloys, and in the production of metal powders. It is also often used in the coining process of coins, such as those widely used in casinos. The process is also a beneficial technique in the production of parts used in the automotive and aerospace industries, as the sintered material this process provides is much more full-bodied and better suited for high-end services due to its excellent resistance to fatigue and thermal shock.
The sintering process is also gaining more attention due to its environmental friendly aspects, as the process does not release any dangerous emissions or waste into the atmosphere as compared to other common production processes. Additionally, the process provides more efficient results without a significant increase in the cost of production.
Due to the many benefits that this process offers, the use of sintering discs is becoming increasingly popular in many industries. As well as providing consistently strong and durable materials, the use of these discs is also helping to significantly reduce the amount of waste created during the production process, and is helping to create a safer, greener and cleaner industrial world.
