Through their unique partnership, Sealed Air and SKF identified equipment used in their manufacturing processes, evaluated and implemented best-in-class lubrication strategies, and created an advanced open gear lubrication analysis program known as the SKF Lubrication Excellence Approach.
The focus of the SKF Lubrication Excellence Approach is to make sure that machines are maintained to the highest standards, reducing their operational risks and cost, and extending their working life. This strategic program provides Sealed Air with tailored solutions for each equipment set, designed to ensure the longest equipment life and most efficient use of lubrication products and processes. The Approach complies with the latest industry standards and is designed to meet the exact requirements of the customer.
The Sealed Air-SKF Lubrication Excellence Approach involves the following key steps. First, a detailed analysis is conducted of the customers equipment and components, which takes into account the environment, type and intensity of use, and other factors. This in-depth assessment helps to identify potential problems, determine appropriate solutions, and focus resources on areas that need improvement.
Once the analysis is completed, a management plan is created, based on the following principles: (1) identify and repair foreseeable problems; (2) develop preventative maintenance plans; (3) manage the operation of the equipment; (4) manage and maintain lubricant inventories. Additionally, the management plan includes a detailed timeline, outlining the steps that must be taken to ensure implementation and successful completion of each of the outlined tasks.
The Lubrication Excellence Approach also includes the implementation of new and improved lubrication best practices.
