Pipeline Steel

Pipeline steel is a type of steel that is utilized for the transportation of oil, gas and other process materials over long distances. It’s an extremely durable and corrosion-resistant type of steel that is used for the structural supports beneath the ground. Its high strength-to-weight ratio makes it an ideal choice for construction projects. Since it’s almost completely resistant to corrosion, this particular type of steel is often used in commercial and industrial applications to ensure that hazardous material or other products make it safely to their destination.

The steel pipeline’s strength lies in its ability to resist corrosion and extreme temperatures, such as those found in Arctic regions. Stronger than many other types of steel, this feature makes it a top choice for pipelines that must travel long distances. As a result, it is often used in the petroleum industry, where even minor corrosion can be detrimental to the product and the environment.

Pipeline steel is also an ideal choice where high-strength and impact toughness is needed. This type of steel is also used to create pressure vessels and pipelines for water networks, as well as ships, bridges and other marine applications.

It’s well known for its strength, resistance to wear and durability. High impact toughness also means that it’s able to withstand sudden stress, such as an earthquake or other ground movement. In addition to its strength, pipeline steel also has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, which means that it maintains its structural integrity over time.

Pipeline steel is also often chosen due its relatively low cost when compared to other types of steel. Manufacturers and engineers continue to use this steel due to its numerous benefits, including its ability to resist extreme temperatures and corrosion.

As technology continues to progress, more and more organizations are investing in pipeline steel for its large number of beneficial characteristics. Not only does it last for years, but it often becomes the most cost-effective steel for use in large projects. Its incredible longevity, versatility and durability makes it a vital component in many different industries.

介绍

Pipeline steel refers to the steel material used for manufacturing the transportation pipelines for gas, water and oil. This kind of steel material mainly has to endure pressure, weldability and corrosion resistance.

Pipeline steel generally adopts two processes to produce--hot rolling and controlled rolling. Hot rolling adopts traditional thermal heating and finishing processes. It can produce large thickness of steel sheets. The main disadvantage is that steel sheets can not fully meet the requirements of high-end pipeline steel. Controlled Rolling is a new technology which can easily control the steel microstructure and the corresponding properties of the steel. The PQF (Premium Quality Finishing) technologies such as MPM (Mean Process Mass) in the process are used to produce pipeline steel with high precision.

The advantages of pipeline steel rely on it very good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. March-carbon pipeline steel produced by controlled rolling technology has better mechanical properties than traditional hot rolling steel. This kind of steel also has better corrosion resistance than hot rolling steel. The microstructure of controlled rolling steel contains more grain boundary, which can reduce the corrosion rate of the steel.

In a word, pipeline steel produced with controlled rolling has excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in the transportation pipeline of such industries as natural gas, water and oil.
